Perfecting the Kettlebell Snatch

You shouldn't be banging your wrists when doing kettlebell snatches. We teach the kettlebell snatch based off of the kettlebell high pull. Often the kettlebell snatch is based off of the swing, which will almost always lead to banged up wrists for beginners. Try performing one kettlebell high pull, followed by another yet slighter higher kettlebell high pull, on the thrid rep go directly into the snatch. You'll find that following the path of the high pull is less cumbersome for beginners.

WOD

10 Snatches

10 Overhead Walking Lunges

8 Snatches

8 Overhead Walking Lunges

6 Snatches

6 Overhead Walking Lunges

4 Snatches

4 Overhead Walking Lunges

2 Snatches

2 Overhead Walking Lunges

Perform all the reps on one side before switching to the opposite arm.

Thank you for this resource and best wishes for its growth as a vehicle for your greater success.

In this session, do you contemplate holding the KB the entire time (or as long as possible,) or simply resting it ( and oneself,) on the ground, between sets ?

Perform 10 Snatches, pause overhead on the 10th rep and do your Lunges, then switch arms.

Of course rest when needed.
